Madeleine Achenza is an environmental communication specialist with three years experience as a journalist. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Science (Environment).

In her last role at The Newswire she covered nationwide breaking news including natural disasters and politics to crime and community news.

She has previously worked as a reporter for regional newspapers covering the Southern Highlands, Goulburn, and everywhere in between.

Madeleine has been recognized as part of a JERAA Ossie award-winning team for the investigation of climate change impacts in the Central West of NSW.

Although most of her career has been spent in print and digital reporting, she volunteers her time as executive producer for 2SER radio’s Wednesday Drive show and has produced a three-part audio documentary.
